At Morelli Chertkow articling students are provided a broad range of experience having practical application and are not tied to their desk with research. Students will meet with clients and witnesses, attend court and participate in all aspects of cases from start to finish. Similarly with solicitors work, students will meet with clients then participate in producing the end product on corporate, commercial and estate matters. Our students will obtain practical experience and training in Ethics, Practice Management and Lawyering Skills and 85% of the Practice Areas as outlined here: Law Society’s Articling Skills and Practice Checklist.
The successful applicant will be paid a salary commensurate with other firms of similar size in Kamloops plus Group Insurance (Life, A&SI, LTD, Health, Dental, EAP) and paid sick leave. The Firm will pay for the Articling and Professional Legal Training Course fees and salary while attending PLTC (commencing in May).

Morelli Chertkow LLP is a full-service law firm. The successful candidate will gain hand’s-on experience in all core areas of law, including but not limited to Family Law, Civil Law, Business Law, Employment Law and Estate Planning/Administration. The successful candidate will be trained and encouraged to interact directly with clients and the Court, including, where appropriate, by conducting client interviews and court appearances. We will focus on developing practical skills from direct experience.
